Master Technical Management: Lecture course Energy Systems Engineering (Mandatory Elective Module)

Economy and society expect energy to be available for all desired purposes in sufficient quantities and in the required forms.

A variety of machines and other technical systems are needed to generate (= convert) and store the large amounts of energy required. This course will focus on thermal power plants, operated with conventional or renewable energy sources, and large-scale energy storage systems. We will get to know differnet plant processes and analyse them regarding efficiency and other key figures. Using real examples, we will be able to understand the design and optimization of power plants. A worldwide leading planning and simulation software will be utilized extensively in the design and assessment of the power plant processes.
